Our Story

Built for a place where excellence is the baseline.

Dr. Coffee was founded with one conviction: the people serving at CHOP deserve a coffee experience that reflects the same rigor they bring to their work every day. We're not a quick grab-and-go station. We're a specialty coffee bar — intentionally located inside the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia so that the staff, visiting specialists, and families who need a moment of clarity can get it without leaving campus.

Our beans are sourced from farms practicing sustainable, shade-grown cultivation. Each roast is developed in small batches and cupped for quality before it ever reaches your cup. The result is coffee with genuine character — floral and bright from Ethiopian lots, chocolatey and structured from Colombian single-estates, bold and clean from our house dark roast.

We work directly with importers who trace every lot to its farm. Shade-grown, hand-picked, and roasted within 72 hours of delivery — so the flavor profile is alive in every cup.

Every espresso is weighed, timed, and cupped. Grind size adjusts with humidity. Water chemistry is dialed for each origin. This isn't autopilot — it's craft under pressure.
